Following the completion of the City’s Master Development Plan in 2018, the City applied to the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) for grant funding to help implement part of the Master Development Plan’s recommendations along Warrensville Center Road and Libby Road around Southgate USA. The application was for the Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative (TLCI) which helps study and plan improvements to streets to support all types of transportation, including pedestrians, public transit riders, cars, and bicyclists. The City was awarded an $80,000 grant to work with City Architecture to develop the Southgate Connectivity Study.

Work began in 2019 and has continued through today focusing on conversations with community stakeholders, City Administration and Council, and Community Meetings to develop a plan that promotes the safe use of Warrensville Center Road and Libby Road no matter your type of transportation.

Work Recently Completed: Community Meeting #3 was held on March 31, 2021 via Zoom.

Next Step: Finalize the Study and present to the City’s Planning and Zoning Commission.
